At the end of 2023, the Faculty of Education and Social Work is moving to the University’s City Campus, ready for the start of teaching in 2024.
As part of this relocation, the collections at the Sylvia Ashton-Warner Library, Epsom, will also be relocated. The actual move of the books and journals to Te Herenga Mātauranga Whānui | General Library is being planned for after the end of Semester 2, 2023.
To prepare for the move, we are getting underway shortly with some collection changes at Epsom. Libraries and Learning Services’ strategy is that current and high-demand material is easily accessible online or on-campus, whilst material with lower use is available from the On-Demand Collection.
Starting in May 2023, low-use items will be transferred from the Sylvia Ashton-Warner Library to the On-Demand Collection, and the Library Catalogue will show this new location.
You can place a request via the Catalogue; books usually arrive within 1-2 business days, book chapters and journal articles will be emailed to you.
Locating items on the move
There will be times when parts of the Sylvia Ashton-Warner Library at Epsom collection are in different places than usual in the library, or you may be after an item that is currently in transit to the On-Demand Collection.
We will have signs on the floor where we are working, but if you can’t find something, please ask the Epsom Library staff or place a request on the Catalogue.
